Kids clothing essential for spring/summer

We’re getting to that tricky time of year when it’s too hot for thick jumpers yet too cold for summer dresses. It’s especially hard to dress the little ones, as they often complain of being too hot within five minutes of play! Here are a few ideas for the spring/summer transition if you have girls like me.

Dresses

Dresses are a great option as they can be layered up with tights and a warm cardigan on cooler days, or worn with sandals and a sunhat for a sunny day at the beach. There’s a great range of girls dresses available at House of Fraser, featuring everything from simple sundresses to princess frocks that would be perfect for birthday parties or more formal events. I’ve spotted a couple of sequinned dresses that I know my four year old will love — this pink Yumi Girls one is my favourite:

Coats

Thick winter coats can be too much on warmer spring days. A lightweight jacket is much more appropriate, as you can wear more layers underneath for extra warmth and still continue to wear it come the hotter summer months. To tackle the April showers, choose a waterproof jacket — this Joules pack away mac is an ideal choice, with its pretty floral print:

Hooded tops

Wearing a pretty cardigan or jumper to the park could be a big mistake — after all, climbing trees and playing in the mud could be the end of their stylish knitwear! A hooded top is a much better choice if you are planning some outdoor play this spring or summer. However, active styles can still be girly — just take a look at this Frugi Organic daisy print hoody. It’s perfect for little girls who love to explore and will keep them warm during their next adventure.

Cotton clothes should be on the top of the preferred list shop for kid’s cloth for summers. Also you can avoid dressing your child in bright colors or flowery prints for summer season.
