Baking with kids: Cookies

- 250g butter, softened
- 200g light brown soft sugar
- 250g caster sugar
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 450g self-raising flour
- 1tsp salt
- 400g chocolate bom bons
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Cream the butter and sugars ,once creamed, combine in the egg and vanilla.
- Sift in the flour and salt, then the chocolate bonbons.
- On a baking tray lay some baking paper – it is good as the tray will not get dirty.
- Using a dessert spoon take portions of the dough and spread them around the baking tray.
- Let your child dip the bonbons into the dough. Make sure they don’t add too many like my daughter did.
- Bake between 7 – 10 minutes depending how chewing you want them and how think they are.
- Take out of the oven and leave to harden for a minute before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
- They are great to eat with warm milk and your kids will love them!
