Chicken Kebabs – Romanian style

As you can imagine as the whole family got together in the last couple of weeks we had lots of BBQ’s!
I am sure i told you before that i love having BBQ’s as i get to relax in the garden while the boys are taking care of the meat and the ladies are chilling and chatting.

One of my favourite BBQ dishes is Chicken Kebabs – simple and tasty.


600 g chicken breast
2 white onions
2 small zucchini
2 green peppers
8-10 mushrooms
150 ml of milk
dehydrated garlic
warm water
8-9 sticks

Put sticks to soak in cold water for 30 minutes. This way you protect them from strong heat emanating from coal or wood.
Cut the chicken into medium pieces that we put in a ceramic pot. Cover them entirely with milk and put them in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, drain them and move them into a separate bowl. In the same bowl add vegetables cut into pieces the same size as the chicken. Add the dehydrated garlic, paprika, salt and pepper and mix them well. Cover with plastic food wrap and tuck it in the fridge for 1 more hour.
We make skewers, alternating chicken pieces with vegetables.

BBQ them on hot grill very very well.
5 minutes before removing them from the grill, sprinkle them with little warm water. Will get a look caramelized.
Serve them hot and with tomato salad!
They are very good!
