Popeye Village with Kids
Family holidays in Malta are all about sun, sand, sea and taking it real easy. But when the kids get restless (shortly after breakfast time is not uncommon) it falls upon the selfless parent to look for fun activities to keep them amused. If you are looking for a super day out that will make the kids say “Oh buoy!” then Popeye Village is the place for you. Situated in beautiful Anchor Bay, near the popular resort town of Mellieha, this former film set turned theme park is bound to keep everybody happy. But you’d better pack a decent supply of spinach as you’ll be in for a busy day.
As you would expect from a village devoted to Popeye, your family will be cordially welcomed by the man himself and his friends. Awaiting your arrival will be all the classic characters from Popeye’s long and illustrious career: Olive Oil, Popeye, Bluto, Poopdeck Pappy, Eugene The Jeep and many more. While the kids are meeting the locals, grown-ups can take part in “Take 2”, a popular filming experience with the park’s animation crew that offers the chance to appear in your own live action movie. As well as this, you can play golf on 9-hole crazy golf course, go for a boat ride, or let loose on water slides & trampolines in the park’s water games area. The Village is also home to Malta’s largest jump-around and a small fun park with some great rides for the very tiny. For hungry kids and thirsty adults there are a variety of food outlets and a winery offering free wine tasting.
Malta holidays wouldn’t be quite complete without a bit of adventure and Popeye Village is definitely the place to go for something out of the ordinary. All you’ll need now are a few catchy sailor terms to make sure you and the family make a good impression.
Here are three:
LAND LUBBER: A term of disrespect for a non-seafarer.
“You landlubbers couldn’t sail a rubber duck!”
SHIVER ME TIMBERS!: An expression of surprise.
“Shiver me timbers! It’s Popeye and Olive Oil!”
YO HO HO!: A typical pirate’s laugh
“Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum!”
If you are planning a holiday at the moment than why not take some inspirations from some of my fellow bloggers that already visited?

Oh my goodness! You have taken me back years thinking about Popeye! I had no idea he was popular enough to warrant his own theme park! It looks like it’s in a beautiful part of the world, it would make a lovely trip.
