Subjects Which Should Be Taught At School
School is one of the most important experiences of our lives.
From the age of 3 until 18, we are put through our paces learning about science, maths and the english language.
There are a lot of subjects which are taught in school which are very useful and help us develop as people in our early years – but there are also a lot of things we aren’t taught about which could impact our lives as we grow into adulthood.
Today I want to take a look at some of the top subjects which should be taught to all children during their school years.
1. Nutrition
Healthy eating is the single most important thing we should be taught during our lives. It is incredibly important for us to know what to eat and not to eat to keep our bodies running smoothly, and this should be taught in school to give children the information they need to make an informed decision on their own diet.
2. How To Fix A Car
Even if children cannot drive a car, they still should learn how to tackle a situation on the road such as a flat tyre. It is incredibly important to teach children how to fix their car when they face issues because it will get them out of some sticky situations later in life.
3. Budgeting
Finance is a part of maths, and although children are taught many concepts of maths such as those on Cazoom Maths, they aren’t taught about managing money.
Money makes the world go round and it is by far the most important commodity we can own as humans. Learning to manage money from a young age could prevent some major mistakes later in life.
4. Cooking
Every child should learn how to cook basic dishes. Do you remember the first time you were let out to live on your own? Did you know how to cook a simple pasta dish or boil an egg?
If not, you likely survived on microwave meals and takeaways for a long time before learning these essential skills. By teaching a child to cook things such as pasta, rice and bread, it will open up a whole world of opportunity for them as they grow older and live on their own.
5. The Environment
With the issues that face our planet, every child should be taught about the environment and the real problems our world faces each day. Children are often passionate about animals and nature, and showing them the mess our planet is in will likely motivate them to change it as they grow older. Raising a generation of eco-warriors right now is the most important thing we can do.
6. DIY
Does your child know how to plaster a hole in the wall, grout between tiles, or change a plug? If not, they need this valuable information.
In adulthood, we all buy homes and have to learn these skills and teaching them while young can save a lot of mistakes when we grow older.

I agree with all of these!!! But they should also be taught at home!
