Baking: Dark and Rye Flour Bread

As a family we don’t eat a lot of bread. That unless we have toast or eggy bread. But no matter what I always knew that homemade bread is always better than the shop bought bread. Now that my mother gave me her bread maker too I love experimenting with different kind of breads – the healthier the better. I tried making a bread by hand too but my kneading skills are not so good I am afraid. Anyway here is the recipe for Dark and Rye Flour Bread: Ingredients for around 1000 g of bread: 350 ml of water 25 g of salted butter 1 tsp of sugar 270…

    Easy Naan Bread Recipe

One reason why i love indian food so much is the naan bread order with it. Naan bread although is called bread is just not bread in my books. The naan is so full of flavour and it can be with the appropriate flavours a dish in itself. I know that normally the naan should have yogurt in it’s composition but as i just didn’t have any i decided to make some without it. And surprise surprise the naan was still very yummy. Ingredients for about 6-8 naans depending how big or small you make them: 3 cups of plain white flour 1 tsp salt 2 tsp of dry yeast…

    Easter pancakes

No I haven’t gone mad ;-). All you have to do is add raisins and cook them! I didn’t have milk either and replace it with sparkling water which makes them even fluffier.

    Scovergi – Another Romanian Recipe

Scovergi. I’ve been thinking at how to translate the name but I just don’t think there is a word to describe them in English. It’s like an appetiser maybe? My grandmother used to make them as a treat on a Sunday afternoon usually. Served warm with jam they are really yummy. Ingredients for about 10 scovergi: • 500 g flour • 15 g fresh yeast (or 1 pack dry yeast) • 300 ml water • 1 teaspoon salt • ½ teaspoon sugar Preparation: Mixing all these ingredients will give you a bread like dough.
