• No-bake dark chocolate cheesecake

This weekend I decided that it was time for me to make another cheesecake. I mean its been a while and I know how much my hubby likes them. Last time I made a milk chocolate cheesecake as hubby like milk chocolate not dark chocolate. Anyway this time around I thought I would give it a try and see if he likes it. Figures that he loved it! The recipe is more or less as the one I previously posted on the blog although I used sour cream instead of whipping cream. Ingredients: 150g digestive biscuits 45g I salted butter 100 g caster sugar 3 big tablespoons of sour cream…

  • Scovergi – Another Romanian Recipe

Scovergi. I’ve been thinking at how to translate the name but I just don’t think there is a word to describe them in English. It’s like an appetiser maybe? My grandmother used to make them as a treat on a Sunday afternoon usually. Served warm with jam they are really yummy. Ingredients for about 10 scovergi: • 500 g flour • 15 g fresh yeast (or 1 pack dry yeast) • 300 ml water • 1 teaspoon salt • ½ teaspoon sugar Preparation: Mixing all these ingredients will give you a bread like dough. So mix the flour, yeast, water, sugar and salt until all mixed and the dough stops being sticky on…

  • Cream for the romanian biscuits

A couple of days ago i posted a recipe for romanian biscuits. In the meantime i actually made a cream that goes with the simple biscuits. If you put this cream between two biscuits and then drizzle them with some chocolate then they become “fursecuri”.  I don’t think there is an english word that describes them but they are basically biscuits with cream. I took a picture with my phone so i apologise as it is not the best picture ever but it shows you how the biscuits should look like basically: Ingredients for the cream filling: – 250gr unsalted butter – 500 gr super fine sugar – 3 tbsp cocoa powder…

  • The challenge of the sponge mix

A while back I bought this sponge mix from Morrisons and Saturday I decided to give it a try and bake a cake. So I mixed it all with some water and egg as advised by the instructions on the bag and pour it in a bread-cake tin. I then defrosted some of the berries I had in the freezer and top the sponge mixture with them. Put it in a preheated oven at 180C and this is what I got: My fruits got on the bottom of the cake instead of staying on top…yup! Maybe that is the way the sponge cake should grow and not allow fruits to…

  • Fruit cake with peaches

  • Easy teaspoon doughnuts

Phew! We just finished eating the doughnuts! And now hubby and boogie are asking for more! It literally took me about 30 minutes to prepare them, fry them and eat them. LOL!
