Little Heart Cookies

- 50g butter, softened
- 25g icing sugar
- quarter of a tsp of red food colouring
- 1 tsp of milk
- quarter of a tsp of vanilla essence
- 75g plain flour
- Other things you will need:
- cookie cutter
- rolling pin
- two baking trays
- a bowl
- Wipe/spray the baking trays with cooking oil.
- Heat the oven to 180C.
- Put the butter into a bowl and stir until its creamy.
- Sift the icing sugar into the butter and sift again until the sugar its integrated and smooth.
- Add the red food colouring into the mixture and mix until the butter cream is light pink.
- Add the milk and vanilla essence.
- Sift the flour through a sieve into the bowl and stir everything together.
- Get your hands into the bowl and squeeze the mixture into a dough.
- Dust your rolling pin and a clean surface with flour
- Roll out the dough until it is slightly thinner than your little finger.
- Use the cookie cutter to cut lots of heart shapes from the dough.
- Lift the shapes onto the baking trays.
- You might have scrap of dough left off so do squeeze the leftovers and repeat the procedure above until you have no dough left.
- Bake the cookies for 6-8 minutes.
- Take them out of the oven and leave them on trays until they are cool.
- While they are still slightly warm sprinkle some more icing sugar on top.
