Fun Plans for October with Your Kids

Now that the kids are back to school I am sure that like me you are also starting to prepare for the moments when it’s not going to be as warm outside.  It may not feel like two minutes since the summer holidays, but October half term is almost upon us. As the weather turns wetter and colder, it’s tempting to keep the kids occupied with technology indoors. However, if you want to truly make the most of the holidays together, getting outdoors and having fun as a family is the best way to do it. Here, we’ll look at some of the best fun plans you can make for…

  • Christmas Tree

Keep your kids entertained this Christmas

During the Christmas holidays is the time when your children are most energetic – they have a tendency to run around from the minute they wake to the minute they fall asleep. Believe it or not, it is actually during the school holidays that children cost parents the most amount of money – and not due to their desire for more toys. On average children cost their parents £2,000 a year in damages to the home by the time they reach the age of ten years old. This cost is calculated by the amount of wallpaper is torn off, walls written on and carpets ripped – having children can be…

  • What are you up to this Halloween?

When i was a child i didn’t know what Halloween was and of course because of that i didn’t celebrate it either. I first heard about Halloween just after the Romanian revolution when lots of TV channels started to appear out of the blue and of course the movies came around as well. The first ever movie about Halloween was the movie “Halloween” of course with Jamie Lee Curtis. I am sure that probably everybody in the western world already watched it but if you didn’t have the chance then i am highly  recommend it. In England, Halloween is celebrated everywhere and kids look forward to it as it means…

  • Keeping the balance during February half term holidays

Half term is just around the corner which means that once again I will have on my hands two kids full time: my baby and my toddler. It will be such a challenge. Having a baby that breastfeeds every 2-3 hours and a 3 and a half year old that wants more or less constant attention will be really tiring. There are so many wonderful cheap UK breaks out there but unfortunately daddy has to work that week. So for sure I will have to find ways to keep busy. I’m planning to keep my eldest busy with puzzles, crafts and drawing while at home. And maybe she could help…

  • New app – Peppa Pig Theme Park

My daughter could watch Peppa Pig – the cartoon over and over again. The same applies to playing her Peppa Pig apps on my iPad or phone. This is why when the new app was released i couldn’t say no to download it. Thanks to P2 Games we get to try these apps first hand which is quite nice. The app was released back in October but i wanted my daughter to try it for a while before i recommend it to you as well. The app is compatible with iPad, iPhone and Ipod touch and to download it costs £3.99. I know it is a bit more pricey than the…

  • SET4SPORT At London Zoo

This weekend my hubby and my daughter had the chance to meet Judy Murray and the set4sport team at London Zoo. Unfortunately mummy was busy with other duties so she couldn’t enjoy the fun. He also write a blog The voice from the abyss.  Here is what my hubby says about their fun day out!  On Saturday I had the opportunity to spend the day at London Zoo with our daughter courtesy of Set 4 Sport, the parent and child sports initiative set up by Judy Murray (mother of tennis player Andy Murray). We were there to try out a few of the games she has developed for parents to play…

  • New app – Bob the Builder

There is no surprise for you my readers anymore. When it comes to apps my daughter is like a little addict. She always wants more and more apps to play on my Iphone and Ipad. Playing with apps its quite a good activity when it is raining outside, on long car or plane journeys as it can keep her entertained quite well. Even though my daughter is quite girly she still enjoys boys apps. And why not? What’s not to enjoy about a good up. Launched on 25th of July and now available on all IOS devices, the app offers preschoolers interactive early learning fun across a range of easy…
