• Cream for the romanian biscuits

    A couple of days ago i posted a recipe for romanian biscuits. In the meantime i actually made a cream that goes with the simple biscuits. If you put this cream between two biscuits and then drizzle them with some chocolate then they become “fursecuri”.  I don’t think there is an english word that describes them but they are basically biscuits with cream.   • Decorating my living room

    You might already know that we are renovating, building and decorating our home in Romania. It is true we have a long time to go yet but the living room and the kitchen are ready and they are both waiting to be decorated. I am not one that really knows what I like but I am browsing the Internet to try and find colours, themes and types of furniture that I like.   • Lettuce Soup-Supa de salata

    Ingredients: 4 tbsp. butter or minced bacon 1 minced onion 1 bud garlic, minced 2 heads lettuce (about 2 lbs in all) Lemon juice 2 cups water 1 egg yolk 1/2 cup table cream Minced parsley Salt and pepper Cook slowly minced onion and garlic in melted fat until soft but not brown. Wash lettuce, tear leaves in small pieces, add to cooked onions and cook about 10 more minutes. Add salt, pepper, water and simmer 15 minutes. Add lemon juice and simmer 5 more minutes.
