• In hospital…

Last Saturday started with us rushing to the hospital as you had stream of blood in your poo poo. My heart was pounding but despite your strange nappy you were still happy, smiling and a chatter box. The wait at the hospital was short but felt so long….for me…and for you because you just wanted to go and walk around and explore… As soon as the doctor came in you started to cry. And I started too. You hate people dressed in white I know. She said you are dehydrated and then wanted to see the dirty nappy I had in a bag…Her reaction…Why couldn’t she control it? She looked…

  • Birth story – Stuntboy gets revved up…

This is Stuntboy’s birth story. He is the youngest son of Helen Neale, who blogs over at Mummys Little Stars as part of her Reward Charts business, KiddyCharts. He is now five, and though rather lovely, doesn’t half wear her out. Helen also has a personal blog at Stickers, Stars and Smiles. She can be found far too much faffing about on social media when she should be washing up, cooking, cleaning, or indeed, working; by writing and selling stuff. It all began with a smack on the arse from rather a fresh-faced young lad… Most people wouldn’t have got in a car for a 45 minute drive to see…

  • Baby A’s birth

We are at home finally! Baby A and mummy are finally at home. The last couple of weeks been hard and full of unexpected. Baby A was delivered on the 2.12.12 at 13.28 following a Caesarean section operation. If you read my previous posts a couple of weeks ago you know why I end up having to have an operation. Yes unfortunately I was stuck again in early labour and no matter how much Baby A or I tried to hurry the labour it just didn’t happen. I was only 2 cm dilated 36 hours after my water break. The whole experience in the theatre having the operation was way…

  • Baby A On The Way? – part 1

Things started to happen on the 29th of November when my friend Suzie and her daughter were visiting us. At around 3pm on the afternoon I felt that my BH were a lot stronger and felt quite tired. After they left I allowed myself to have a nice and hot bath. When hubby arrived from work I was just collapsed on the couch withy little one…Sitting on the ball that night felt the right thing to do…I was not in real pain but the tightening was quite powerful. At 4 am on the 30th I woke up from my sleep unable to lay down on the bed anymore. I spent…

  • Pregnancy diary 38 weeks

For about a week and a half now the Braxton Hicks I am experiencing got stronger and stronger. My baby moves lots as well although the space is not as big. It feels really crowded actually and the pressure baby puts on my bladder and my pelvic area is enormous, and it hurts! My nights been really bad as well. I am barely sleeping because I of the BH and because the trips to the bathroom are so blood often. Anyway this afternoon the pains started to be stronger and at 5 pm when I went to see my GP she told me that baby is almost fully engaged hence…

  • Birth, babies and a doula

My daughter was born following an emergency c-section. I was really disappointed that I was unable to give birth naturally and in water as I wanted to. You might ask why? Well it was because my labour didn’t go as I was expecting and I didn’t dilate fast enough or “failed to progress” to enable a natural birth. I will not go into details because the whole experience brings back bad feelings and I don’t want to talk about negativeness in this post. All I will say though is that all I can remember regarding the actual birth of my daughter is the cold and bright room – the theatre…
