Retro sweets: creating and awakening memories for all generations

For any adult who now takes a visit to a sweet shop, it is a journey which will transport them back to their childhood. Vivid colours, the smell of the sculpted sugar, the sound of the wrappers as they are tipped from containers into the anonymity of the small white paper bag. It all culminates in the handing over of the very personal prize to be closely guarded until the perfect time arrives to reopen and fully embrace the sensation of their favourite retro sweets. Where it all began The thrill of taking pocket money and spending what felt like hours carefully choosing bags of chocolate white mice, rainbow coloured…

Romania – the good, the bad, the ugly

Romania is a beautiful country. I love my country. Even Prince Charles loves my country. He comes to visit Transilvania at least once a year. He even owns a couple of nice houses here and helps in promoting the Carpathian mountains in UK and all over the world. Watch the video “Wild Carpathia” to which Prince Charles contributed with more than just an interview. You can listen to watch his majesty says about my country from minute 41. It is great that this video was made and because of the charity you can hear about in the video is enabling the kids to learn more about nature and how to…

  • Moving again

On 2nd of May 2013 I'm flying back to Romania with my hubby and my girls. Yes I'm going back at least for a couple of months. I'm planning to spend all summer in Romania with both my girls. During all this time my hubby will be in England still. It will be hard without him but at the same time this is something that we need to do...We need to see if we still like it in Romania. If we do then we will stay and try to make a future. As you can imagine it will be hard. Kara doesn’t really know a lot of Romanian so it…

  • Pregnancy diary week 18

So this is my second pregnancy! And it feels a lot different this time around I have to say. I remember that when I was pregnant with my daughter I use to check Babycentre website every single day. Sometimes more than once a day as I would spend a lot of time chatting on the forum with other expectant mothers. With some of them I am still friend with on Facebook. This time around not so much. I rarely check my Babycentre app to see what’s happening with the baby. I guess I am bit more busy this time. Instead of chatting on the forums I blog and chat on…
