Fresh new books for fresh young minds
Today I have for you two fantastic new books for children written by Serge Bloch:
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
and Other Mealtime Hazards
and
REACH FOR THE STARS
and Other Advice for Life’s Journey
So who is Serge Bloch?
Serge Bloch has won a gold medal at the Society of Illustrators and created art for numerous adult and children’s books. He also illustrates for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and Newsweek. He lives in Paris with his wife, two sons, two cats and a dog.
Look at these illustrations below:
By using funny and simple drawings Serge Bloch is teaching the readers of the books about food and life.
Extract from the press release:
The young hero of Serge Bloch’s delightful Butterflies in My Stomach is back and along with his loyal dog Roger, is embarking further on the perilous journey of life.
Like all of us, they encounter many ‘forks in the road’ and ‘uphill battles’, but they also find that there’s no better time than right now to ‘reach for the stars’ and ‘shoot for the moon’. And just as with his Butterflies in My Stomach, Bloch’s witty art, a wonderful mix of whimsical line drawings and photography, will delight, charm and inspire.
Sold for £5.99 each the books are incredible light and very easy to handle by little hands. My 3 year old daughter doesn’t know how to read yet but she was really entertained by the pictures in the books.
We both like this below line:
When it’s time to eat, be a tough cookie and try something NEW!
My daughter keeps repeating – “tough cookie”!
My thoughts – The books are a bit expensive but they are worth it as your little ones will love them. Books like this are good to entice kids to start learning how to read as early as possible and teach them about good things. There is nothing sparkly in these books but my little lover of sparkly didn’t mind it.
If you like the sound of the above then I have great news from you! I was offered 3 bundles of books to offer to my blog readers!
Exciting!
