Visiting Romania: Club Villa Bran
Romania is not a well known family holiday destination but since I arrived at home I discovered that bit by bit places start to be more welcoming for kids. This is why we decided to visit Club Villa Bran last year.
Although we visited it because we wanted to celebrate my birthday when I reserved our places I done it with our girls in our mind. Club Villa Bran is located into a very beautiful area – near Bran Castle.
We visited at the end of September last year but I bet that during winter or summer days the pictures taken from the resort will look even nicer. As my hometown is near the seaside our journey to the mountains (resort) was quite long but if you are flying n Bucharest than your journey will be a lot shorter. By car it will only take you about an hour and a half or so.
As soon as you will arrive in the small little city (village more) you will feel like you step into a whole different world…you will always have Bran Castle on the horizon. The road that takes you to Club Villa Bran is surrounded by apple trees. Although it was autumn when we visited everything was still so green…it felt like I was still on english grounds for a second.
Club Villa Bran has lots of activities and ways to entertain your family – from the youngest to the eldest member of your family. From indoor and outside pools to custom made accommodation with names like Little RedRiding Hood cottage and Story Valley everything is there for you. You won’t even feel like leaving the resort!
The girls had a blast in the Story Valley and you know what? You might also have a surprise while you visit it as there are a couple of deers running around there.
Accommodation
Snow White House
Bambi’s House
This is one of the houses that you can rent and sleep in. There’s also Little Red Riding Hood House which we didn’t manage to visit unfortunately because there was someone staying in at the time. We promised our girls that we will definitely go back this year or next and stay in one of these houses. Staying in one of these houses is a bit more expensive than normal accommodation – £100 – £120 a night for a two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a really large living room with a glass floor – it was a bit scary walking on it for me (I’m afraid of heights) but my girls loved it!
Can you see the branches through the floor? You might also be able to spot a deer if you stay there…
Bambi’s Kids Bedroom
My girls loved the bedroom and I bet any child would love it too!
For kids
There’s lots to do for the kids there no matter the weather and what I love most is the fact that the staff is so friendly and nice. Especially the entertainment staff – they are always there for kids no matter where you choose to spend your time. In the restaurant they have a play room for the kids and you can simply leave your kids there and the staff will keep them entertained. Even if the kids will not be brave enough to go along then they will still be rewarded with a colouring book and a balloon by the entertainment staff.
Plus there’s also an outside playground, a play centre with two huge slides, a theatre where kids can be entertained and horse riding. All this is available for everyone that is staying at Club Villa Bran.
The cost
A normal room is about 70 Ron which is about 14£ a night and an apartment about 120 Ron a night which is about 20£/night. This is really cheap considering what it is available. All you have to be concerned about is the food. And the food is so good as its all prepared the same day there and cheap enough.
The entertainment for adults is quite good too as they are having concerts and traditional romanian dancing almost every night.
Plus they have a sports arena too but I am sure that if you want you can find out more from Club Villa Bran Website.
