• Meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti

If you remember when I participated at the Cooking with Morrisons event a couple of months ago I learnt  about the Morrisons new range MSavers and how to cook Meatballs in tomato sauce with spaghetti from Morrisons chef Richard. Last week I decided to give it another try even though the ingredients are a little bit different although all from MSavers range. Ingredients: MSavers 483g of beef and pork mince-1.50£ 350g onions 100g breadcrumbs 5g dried mixed herbs MSavers 1 tin tomatoes – 31p MSavers 300g spaghetti 24p/pack(but use less) We actually spent as little as 3£ for a dinner of four and we had some left for my daughter…

  • Yummy cottage pie

This afternoon the weather was that brilliant so I decided to cook a cottage pie for dinner. Cottage pie is one of the family favourite. So hearty and yummy! It reminds me a bit of the Romanian Musaca even that one is a lot dryer than cottage pie. I didn’t use any exact quantities for vegetables or potatoes. Only for mince – 400gr of organic mince beef from Sainsbury. So I peeled about 10 potatoes I think….and cut them as small as I could. The smaller you cut them the faster they boil. I put all the cut potatoes in a pan and leave them to boil on a low…

  • Beef and beer stew and Brussels

Four years ago I visited Brussels for my birthday with my hubby. We have friends living there as well so it was a great opportunity to go and see them too. I loved the city and the architecture was amazing! But the reason I’m writing this post is not Brussels architecture it is the dish I enjoyed eating there the most. And believe me I’m not talking about waffles and ice cream! They were really yummy though! The best I ever ate actually! And if you visit Brussels you HAVE to try them! The dish I’m talking about is “Beef and beer stew”! We both enjoy eating it and decided…

  • Cooking potato stew with Cirio

“Cirio” is a brand that has an extensive range of chopped and peeled tomatoes, purees, and passatas. It is actually the no. 1 brand in Italy. We love tomatoes in our house and have to say that cooking with the “Cirio”products is a pleasure! For my potato stew I used the chopped tomatoes only. The “Cirio” chopped tomatoes are really consistent and thick and I only need it half of the tin. The recipe for the potato stew is simple. You will need: 1 onion Potatoes – I put about 8 I think?? Frozen vegetables like – carrots, peas, broccoli etc. Stock – vegetables “Cirio” chopped tomatoesFirst heat a tablespoon of oil in…

  • Roast chicken dinner

Today I would like to share with you a recipe that I cooked for my family at the end of last week. It is inspired by one of the recipes that can be find on the Morrisons website under the M Savers recipes. So on Saturday we went shopping to Morissons and bought everything that we need it for this week. I was very please when the total came to only £37.13. It usually goes up to over 60-70£. I think the big difference is the fact that we bought quite a lot of products from the M savers range. One of the products is this chicken below for which…

    Cooking evening with Morrisons

Last week I was very lucky to be invited to a cooking experience hosted by Morrisons. It was a very exciting and cheerful evening. As soon as we arrived at the event we were greeted with drink and coffee. As you might already know Morrisons is one of the biggest food retailers in UK. Morrisons owns 476 stored and their business is mainly food and grocery. The unique thing about Morrisons is the fact that they use their own manufacturing facilities and this gives them control over the provenance and the quality of food. We were invited to the event to be presented the new M savers range of products.…

  • Chicken roast and rice a la slow cooker

We all like roasted chicken don’t we? Yes I love it too! But when you are trying to lose weight and be healthy a roasted chicken in the oven might not be helpful. So in my way to try and cook healthy and quickly prepare without having to be at home is always to turn to my slow cooker. It is true even if I bought it about 5 years ago I didn’t really cooked enough using the slow cooker. So when hubby comeback home from Sainsbury with a chicken I thought I should use my slow cooker to roast it. Preparing it didn’t take very long. All I had…
