    Homemade Christmas: Tree Paper Garland

Because of my eldest daughter Kara loves crafting we made one more craft last week – the Christmas tree garland.   Materials: Wark blue paper card – the harder and thicker the better; White paper card; Silver glue; Scissors; Christmas tree cookie cutter; 1 pencil; A long piece of string – 1m – 1 1/2m depending how long you want to make it. Double sticky tape. Steps to follow:   Place the cookie cutter on the blue paper and draw around it with the pencil so that when you take the cookie of the paper you have a tree drawing. Repeat the process until you have a paper full of…

Development and video time with Baby A

Lots happened in the last couple of weeks with Anastasia. She turned 9 months on the 2nd of September and since then her development went sky high. She started to sit on her knees a lot better, she started to crawl a lot better – there are moments when i have to almost run to get to her, she laughs so soundly and she really knows what play is. Many times even she initiate the play with her sister and me. She even plays very nicely by herself these days. I put her a plastic box full of toys only for her in our living room and she spends lots of…

Our holiday at the romanian seaside

It is is very lovely at the moment in Romania. Warm outside – maybe a bit too warm for some – which makes you want to go to the beach. This is why we decided that, for our first holiday as a family of four to go for a short holiday to the Romanian seaside. Although the water is not as clear as it is in Turkey or Greece the salty water of Black sea is perfect for swimming. This month even the water is really warm and you can even take babies in the water. As you will see from the pictures below this is exactly what we done.…

    Loving the sunshine

Since the day we arrived Kara absolutely loves the hot weather! She couldnt believe when i told her she doesn’t need to wear socks, tights or a vest under her clothes! She even said – But mummy in England i had too! She spends a lot of her time in the garden and outside in general. The parks in my hometown are not great unfortunately (about this in another post maybe) but every afternoon there is a bouncy castle that goes up in the centre of the town. Kara wants to go every night and we really dont mind taking her. After we put Anastasia to bed this is our activity.…

    We have a new house!

We were recently contacted by the Wooden Toy Shop and given a chance to give our daughter a very special present. A half metre high wooden dolls house. The Le Toy Van Sophie’s House to be precise. As you can see she was thrilled with her present. Construction was so simple a trained monkey wearing a blindfold could do it. I only used a screwdriver once, to screw on the porch above the front door. The rest of it just slotted it together and held in place by the side window boxes. Simple. Once thrown together the front wall opens up to reveal 2 floors with a central staircase and the roof…

    DIY Stamps

Every time it rains and my eldest daughter is off nursery she wants to do crafting. As I’m not very good at this sort of thing I searched for ideas on Maggy’s blog Red Ted Art. As Kara loves stamps and painting I thought that these super quick DIY stamps were a good idea. Pretty simple for me to do although the drying up with normal glue takes a while. I think next time I will definitely try superglue. They don’t look as good as Maggy’s but I think it’s good for my first ever craft. What do you need: – bottle tops – I used normal ones from like…
